about

Mary Dacquino -Designer
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
Leonardo da Vinci
I feel very fortunate to have lived in many different parts of
the US - from growing up in NYC and spending summers at our family lake house in the Berkshire mountains, to the
coast, high desert and mountains of California, a 91 acre
farm in New Hampshire, the Piedmont region of South Carolina, the Sonoran desert of Arizona, the greater Boston area of Massachusetts, a pied a terre in Washington, DC and most recently and hopefully permanently, the stunning coast of Rhode Island. I have loved each and every place and each have influenced my approach to design.
My husband David and I love, most of all, to travel, and our
34+ years together have been filled with many adventures on nearly every continent. The sensory experience of each place, its colors, texture, architecture, art and landscape are what fascinate me, Capturing a bit of it, whether in a photograph, a length of fabric, or a piece of pottery can give me inspiration for a room, a color scheme, or a decorative vignette.
A person's or family's home should tell his/hers or their own story. I pride myself in trying to bring that story out in the spaces I work on... how else will it be a home?

Bringing the name with me to South Carolina and Arizona, of our beloved property in New Hampshire and my previous topiary and antique shop, I operated Jonny Cake Farm Antiques & Interiors until our move back east to Dunstable, MA in 2003.
My first business, started in 1991. A shop in a converted 1928 cabin overlooking beautiful Lake Arrowhead. We hosted art shows and seasonal food festivals. It was here where my love of design began

Housed in a new two story barn with an attached English greenhouse on the grounds of our restored 1812 home, SeasonS was my pride and joy for 12+ years. We hosted garden, art and antique shows, many fundraisers, and celebrated each season with joy. In Spring of 2010 we were thrilled to be featured in Early Homes Magazine.
